Your platform for exchange and networking The annual Day of Research is a forum especially for doctoral students at the Medical Faculty of the University of Duisburg-Essen. Here you can gather valuable impulses for your work - from scientists of all hierarchical levels! Again and again, new and interesting research ideas emerge. You will profit from this in the long term!
Presenting your research This year you will again have the opportunity to present your research to an internal panel of reviewers, who will then ask you questions and evaluate the individual presentations.
The presentations of the research projects will take place with posters in attendance.
The peer reviews will take place in groups. You will learn a lot and gain the attention of experienced scientists.
Important information / Download Please register by 3 October 2022 at the latest, including an abstract of your research project. Important: The abstract and your presentation should be in English. Information on the parameters and the programme:

Our SCIENCE SLAM For the sixth time and almost legendary: the Science Slam on the Day of Research!
Seize the opportunity to present your research project in an entertaining and pointed five to ten-minute talk and get the audience excited about your topic.
Aids are expressly permitted – whether presentations, props or live experiments. In the end, the audience decides who wins.
The best Science Slam will be rewarded with 500 € prize money! All other slammers will receive 100 € each.
Preparing for the SCIENCE SLAM You may apply for the SCIENCE SLAM by 3 October 2022 as well.
You will receive excellent support in preparing your presentation! The first applicants will take part in our top-class workshop led by our experienced science slam coach Ms Désirée Krüger. Free of charge! Here you will learn content and skills that you can later apply to other presentation formats in your career. The workshop will be held in German or English, depending on registrations.
After the workshop, a draw will decide which four people will slam on the Day of Research. And we won't leave you alone on the last few metres to the stage: You will receive another two one-hour individual coaching sessions.
Mandatory dates Full-day workshop for the first 8 applicants:
First individual one-hour coaching session (online): Friday, 21 October 2022 (1 hour each, timeframe: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm) Second individual one-hour coaching session (online): Friday, 18 November 2022 (1 hour each, timeframe: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm) Final rehearsal: Thursday, 24 November 2022 (5:00 pm to 7:00 pm)
